- Information regarding prizes and how to enter forms part of these conditions. By entering, entrants accept these conditions.
- Entry is open only to Australian residents except directors, officers, management and employees (and the immediate families of directors, officers, management and employees) of the Promoter, or of the agencies or companies associated with this competition.
- The purchase period for the competition begins at 12.01am (AEST) on 27/07/09 and closes at 11.59pm (AEST) on 30/09/09 (Purchase Period). Entries must be received between the start of the Purchase Period (27/07/09) and 11.59pm (AEDT) on 4/10/09.
- To enter, consumers must, during the Purchase Period, purchase (1) Redheads Firelighters 24pk from any participating store (Eligible Purchase) and, (2) visit www.redheads.com.au, follow the links to the online entry form, and fully complete and submit the entry form, by providing their full name, street address (PO Box addresses not permitted), postcode, phone number, the store receipt number featured on their Eligible Purchase receipt and the full barcode number of the Eligible Purchase product. Entries must be received by 11.59pm (AEDT) on 4/10/09. Consumers are responsible for the costs associated with accessing the Internet.
- Entrants can enter this competition as many times as they like, subject to a limit of one entry per eligible purchase receipt per household per day. Entries from PO Box addresses are not permitted. Each entry must be based on a separate Eligible Purchase. Entrants must retain the original product barcode and Eligible Purchase receipt to verify each entry (showing purchase time/date/store). Failure to provide these to the Promoter upon request may, at the Promoter’s discretion, result in an invalid entry. The Promoter may verify the validity of entries. Computer generated entries will not be accepted. Online Entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter’s database, not the time of transmission by the entrant. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption, communications failure or otherwise. The Promoter has no control over telephone communications, the Internet, networks or lines and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter is not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred. Entrants who enter using multiple addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or aliases may be disqualified.
- The prizes to be won in this competition are as follows:
(a) Redheads hampers valued at $230 (inc GST). Hamper consists of Redheads Firelogs x 2, Redheads Charcoal BBQ Fuel x 8, Redheads Firestarter Match x 1, Redheads Firelighters 24s x 10, Redheads Safety Matches x 2, Redheads Handypack Matches x 3, Redheads Extra Long Matches x 3, Redheads Superlong Matches x 2, Redheads Refillable Gas Match x 3. There is a total of 50 of these prizes to be won. The total prize pool for this prize is $11,500;
(b) $5,000 Gold Bullion. $5,000 gold bullion will be purchased at the Australian market price at 2pm (AEDT) on 7/10/09. There is 1 of these prizes to be won. The total prize pool for this prize is $5,000;
Instant Win
- All Online Entries will be automatically entered into the instant win aspect of this competition. At various times during the competition, randomly selected Online Entries will be awarded an instant win prize. The instant win prizes available to be won are Redheads hampers as detailed in paragraph 6(a) above. There are 50 instant win prizes available to be won.
Major draw
- There will be 1 major draw conducted at 12pm (AEDT) on 5/10/09 at Suite 104/55 Beach St, Port Melbourne Victoria 3207. All valid Online Entries received during the competition, (including instant prize winners) will be entered into the major draw. The major draw prize is $5,000 Gold Bullion as detailed in paragraph 6(b) above.
- All winners will be notified in writing and/or by phone. The major prize winner will have his/her name and state/territory of residence published in The Australian on 22/10/09. By entering, each entrant agrees that his or her full address not be published.
- All prize winners must, at the Promoter’s request, participate in all promotional activity (such as publicity and photography) surrounding the winning of any prize, free of charge, and they consent to the Promoter using their name and image in promotional material.
- The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
- Without limiting the previous paragraph, the Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any damage, loss or delay in transit to prizes. \
- The Promoter may require entrants and/or winners to provide proof of age, proof of identity and proof of residency. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s discretion.
- If an entry is deemed not to comply with these conditions of entry, the Promoter reserves the right to discard that entry and a new winner of the relevant prize will be redrawn on the same day immediately after the initial draw. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this competition by, any person who tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the competition or acts in violation of these conditions, acts in a disruptive manner or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
- Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in prize value. If a winner does not take a prize, or an element of a prize, at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that prize or element of that prize will be forfeited by that winner and cash will not be supplied in lieu. Where a prize is unavailable for any reason the Promoter may substitute for that prize another item of equal or higher value as determined by the Promoter, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities, where required.
- In the event of a prize not being accepted or claimed within 3 months of the relevant draw, the relevant winner’s entry will be deemed invalid and the Promoter reserves the right to conduct such further draws at 12pm (AEDT) on 12/01/10 at Suite 104/55 Beach St, Port Melbourne Victoria 3207 as are necessary to distribute the prize/s, subject to any written directions given by the relevant gaming authorities, where required. Any winner/s in this draw will have their name and state/territory of residence published in The Australian on 29/01/10.
- If for any reason any aspect of this competition is not capable of running as planned, including, but not limited to, by reason of tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities, where required.
- The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. Where the operation of this competition results in, for GST purposes, supplies being made for non-monetary consideration, entrants agree to follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
- All entries will be the property of the Promoter. The information entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this competition. The Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this competition or communicating with entrants. The Promoter is bound by the National Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
